Maeve and Frankie met in the fall of 2019 at UVA. Once they started talking, they never wanted to stop.

Now they live together in NYC in the Upper West Side where they spend a lot of time studying (psychology and business), working (research and finance), walking in Central Park, cooking new recipes, and laughing together. 

Frankie proposed in Amboise, France a few months ago which means it’s time to plan a wedding! They hope you can join them - it’s gonna be a party!!!

Flights
Catania–Fontanarossa (CTA) is the closest major airport. 
        NYC Travelers: Delta now runs a daily nonstop JFK to CTA service

 We recommend booking tickets  ~1 year in advance for the best deals

Comiso (CIY), Palermo (PMO) are other options but require 2+ hr drive


Connections
Most long-haul routes connect through Rome (FCO) or Milan (MXP/LIN)

Lots of European cities also have direct low-cost flights to CTA

Things to Do


Ortiga, Sicily
The historic center of Syracuse, Sicily. Amazing markets, food, shopping.

       Visit Duomo di Siracusa
       Waterfront views at Fonte Aretusa
       Wander La Giudecca di Ortiga
       Gelato, gelato, gelato
Beaches
       Fontane Bianche: soft white sand, 20 mins south

      Aranella: calm water, rockier shore & cliff jumps, 15 mins south
 
      Calamosche: secluded cove in Vendicari Nature Reserve, 40 mins by car (near Noto)


Day Trips
We plan on organizing day trips to one or both of the following towns on the day after the wedding, please let us know if you are interested in attending when you RSVP  

       Taormina: Hilltop city with an ancient Greek Theatre and gorgeous views, roughly 1 hour and 45 mins away

      Noto: UNESCO Baroque town, great shopping and nearby beaches, roughly 40 mins away

Extending Your Trip
  A flight to Sicily is expensive but once you are in Europe there are lots of easy places to get to, here are some ideas!

      Malta: Island country between Sicily and North Africa. Known for prehistoric megalithic temples, sandy beaches, and was also a Game of Thrones film site (Red Keep and parts of King’s Landing)
 
      Athens: capital and largest city in Greece. Acropolis, Parthenon, Agora, National Archaelogical Museum
